Strengths Love it. Been a Honda fan for years but love the low end torque of the little diesel. For its size it can really do some serious work. Very stabile and safe feeling with my children sitting side by side. The dump box can handle as much as you want to load. Plenty fast for it weight. Perhaps too fast?
Weaknesses Difficult to change gears. Difficult to go from two to four wheel drive. Perhaps cause its still new? Needs some sort of glove box.
Overall Overall the best built side by side I shopped for. I have no regrets. Its not a quad and wasn't intended to be. If you want a high speed side by side go buy a belt driven, gas engine, kid killer.

Strengths Hydraulic dump bed
Fuel Economy
Strength of frame
Weaknesses Air filter intake location, lack of front axle lock, cost of parts is high, rough riding, needs a better fuel filter, needs a glove box, should have a better cover for the fusebox located behind the seat--it fills up with trash and soil. Shifting is my biggest complaint: you shouldn't have to turn the steering wheel, hit the brakes, and/or press the foot-feed pedal to engage gear so you can shift!
Overall 2008 RTV-900 Special Edition, 4 months old, with coaster valve. Bought a truck bed mat from Tractor Supply and made patterns for the bed floor, cab floor, and under the seat. Used sound-deadening panel to seal around openings behind the seat. Built a battery guard-shield. The 900 works well for a 60 gallon spray unit mounted in the bed.

Strengths TNot Sure.
Weaknesses The steering geometry is not well thought out. The tie-rods will invert and allow the tire to "stuff" into the fenders while doing most anything that places any force to the tire. I almost broke another CV the other day while spraying herbicide in a damn near flat pasture. This was after I installed steering stops to keep from popping another CV joint apart when the tires reverted.
The trans low and reverse ratios are horrid. Absolutely worthless. I have to go get a real UTV if I need to actually get something done. Or the Ezgo. Yes.... my Ezgo is more of a utility vehicle than the Kubota. There is a VERY, VERY short list of things the RTV can accomplish that the EZGO cannot. There is however a very large list of things the EZGO can do that the RTV cannot. Like say..... climb the freakin driveway with a couple people on it (slaps forehead).
If they had put a straight axle in the front/rear, used an automotive style transmission (I mean.... is that SO freakin hard for you Utility vehicle designers to do?) designed proper steering geometry that will actually CONTROL the tires of the vehicle, and used something along the lines of a 36+hp engine, it would actually be a decent little vehicle. They could actually look themselves in the mirror in the morning.
Overall As it sits? Biggest waste of 7500 dollars I have ever seen. If I thought someone would buy the thing from me I would sell it in 30 seconds. Go buy a rhino or ANYthing that actually has enough power to SPIN IT'S OWN TIRES (I mean... shouldn't that be a REQUIREMENT for ALL vehicles???)
Yes. I think that power, steering and trans deserve the title of "Engineering Abortion" on this vehicle. And I would LOVE for anyone who thinks differently to come say it to my face while I'm driving right by you on my GOLFCART actually getting things DONE! Nevermind something like our gators. But a GOLFCART!
If I cared, I could rip the axles, hydrocrap and all out of it, install something like Suzuki Sammy axles and something like a turbo350 trans, or glide, a turbocharger and have the pump sent out to an injection shop that does pulling truck/tractor pumps and MAKE something of the pos. Unfortunately, the list of "bads" is longer than the list of "goods", which is why I will spend no effort trying to fix this thing. I'll just keep it on the driveway (and hope it makes it to the top each time) and use it to haul light brush and gas cans/chainsaws and such. If I need to actually do something I'll use a gator, the golfcart or a pickup truck. You know, something that will actually TRY to move itself when not on perfectly flat ground.

Implements : Snow plow
Purchased From : AJ Power Equipment
Strengths Flexible for hauling tools and materials around, adequate snow plow except uphill. Dealer helpful.
Weaknesses Stubborn gear changer. Have to stop, backup or go forward, rev engine, wait, then change gear. Once a year the gear shifter inside the tranmission has popped out requiring onsite repair to realign. Could use more power for uphill. Turf tires.. useless off road.
Overall Good start for a new Kubota model, but needs improvements in the model line.

Strengths good on fuel,
Weaknesses poor design on all u joints, they cannot be serviced. My 4 year old RTV 900 has 550 hours & has been to Powerco(clinton, nj ) for every 100 hour service.the last repair $500 + to replace both rear half shafts( no grease in them. @ the same time I had the machine for this repair ,I had a 100 hr service done & was told they would go thru the entire machine.WELL I picked it up & first time I used 4 wheel drive, it sounded like a rock crusher. I had Powerco come & pick it up & demo'ed the issue. the tech called & told me that the cover plate for the front drive was bent into the carrier bearing& caused the failure, NEXT day the service manager called & told me that the carrier bearing& u joints were dry & had moisture damage/ another 500.00 fix.
Overall never buy the first or second year, kubota will not stand behind what they make & sell. Kubota factory service rep. trys to discredit the owner .

Strengths power steering, payload and towing capacity (I hooked up to over 24,000lbs. of rolling weight and it pulled it in medium, 4wd- would pull alot more in low range!) Rides good.
Weaknesses Most of the former weaknesses have already been addressed by Kubota. Rear CV joints were made more stout last year with bigger U-joints. Fuel tanks have been redesigned to take care of the leaking issues. Also, the 4wd shaft to the front has been redesigned and stoutened up. Yeah, it's still low on the "get up" power, if your used to other gas, belt drives, but what the tranny will handle is still much more than any other machine out there.
Overall Heaviest, most stout "utility vehicle" on the market! If you want speed, get you an ATV. If you need something to WORK AND STILL BE WORKING 4000 HRS FROM NOW, GET THE RTV!
