Strengths Great cut. Plenty of power. I have had it 3 years not one problem. My yard has a steep hill and it strolls up like its flat. Gas goes a long way.
Weaknesses I have not experienced any.
Overall Great tractor will buy same or equivalent whenever another is needed.

Weaknesses JUNK; JUNK; JUNK; JUNK; JUNK; JUNK; JUNK; less than 8 hours replaced the belt 4 time ($60 bucks a pop); replaced the wheel bearings after 40 hrs; had the deck replaced after 55 hrs; motor died after 88 hrs; Cub Cadet Customer Support was very rude and unsupportive. WARNING: DO NOT BUY!!! DO NOT BUY!!!

Strengths
Great tractor, have had one three years no problems. I live on a steep grade and the trans seems much more powerful than the LA100 deere that i had before. The kohler engine is fuel easy and the cut is great!
Weaknesses I wish I had upgraded to the 1050 for the bigger cut and v-twin!

Weaknesses Purchased new 4 years ago from Lowe's. It's given us trouble pretty much from the get go. We've taken it to 3 different repair shops and not a one has fixed it properly. The belt kept coming off, so we purchased another belt ---$65 and guess what? It comes off too. We are very disappointed with this mower and will NEVER purchase another Cub Cadet nor recommend it.

Strengths Holds up really nice. I live on an uneven uphill yard, so there is very little lateral movement. Supports my weight pretty evenly.
Weaknesses Yes I am, a victim of the dreaded deck belt problem. Support for this mower is almost non-existent unless I want to go by the specs of the new generation. My mower was a throw-in with my house when I bought it, and I guess the previous owners didn't believe in saving operating manuals. I have had the hardest time trying to find a spec that would tell me what size belt to replace my old worn out deck belt that keeps slipping off, so I guess I will just have to measure my old belt with a string and measuring tape.
Overall Can't really gripe much since I didn't have to buy this mower. Aside from the deck belt slipping off, I've had little to no problems with mine

Weaknesses BELT KEEPS COMING OFF THE THING LEAKS OIL LIKE A SIV HAD TO REPLACE THE BATTERY AFTER 8 MONTHS I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER CUB CADET. I HAD A 10 YEAR OLD CRAFTSMAN THET WAS A BETTER MOWER 10 YEARS OLD THAN WHEN THIS ONE WAS NEW ..........JUNK

Weaknesses I have the Cub Cadet LT1045. It only has 18 hrs. The motor is history and I am unable to get a direct anwser from Cub Cadet or from the Cub Cadet dealer has to when they will be able to the replace it. They have had the tractor since early May 2009. When I am able to get to a Cub Cadet represenative they never follow through with our conversation. I have called into Cub Cadet seven times.

Strengths Excellent mower. Using for third season and have had no problems...even on steep hills. Even cut.

Overall Excellent machine. Have recommended to my neighbor who bought a Cub Cadet (newer model) and he loves his too.
I bought mine based upon input from son-in-law who was familiar with servicing and reliability of mowers. The one thing I did differently was bought from an independent dealer and not a big-box store. The son-in-law told me that even though a mower may have the same model number, the big box stores spec them out differently and the mower at the big box may not be as good as the one you get from an independent.

Strengths it was good in the beginning....
Weaknesses belt comes off constantly very hard to locate in the stores replacement parts fort the LT1045
Overall Thought I was purchaing a good brand- they just don't make them like the one my grandad had!

Weaknesses I have had this mower for 3 years with nothing but problems. The belt wont stay on. I am always having to tighten the idoler puller on the mower deck. The battery was bad after a year and now I can't keep the gd thing running. I only have 55 hours on this mower and its ready for the scrap heap. Currently it is flooding itself out. I have installed new -spark plug, air filter and gas filer but to no avail.
