    hydraulic bed won't raise?

We bought our 900 three weeks ago used (109 hours) on Ebay. Great condition but when I try and lift the dump bed I hear the hydraulics straining but bed does not move. I checked to see if there were any constraints or locks or straps holding it down but there were not???

On your control arm (next to the seat), push the arm all the way down.  Now hit it a bit further.  It should lock in that position.  That's the float position.

Once it's in float, get a friend as it's a bit heavy but try to lift the front of the bed (simulating a dump) by hand.  If you can get it to open, you should be able to lock it there by releasing the lift arm out of the float position and put it back in it's neutral spot.  Also put the safety support bracket around the cylinder.

If you can do that, while the bed is in the up position, fire the engine up and try to move the cyl up and down.  It should be able to move a bit before hitting the upper limit or the support bracket.  Let us know your findings.

Also check your fluid level in the reservoir.

No luck!! put it in the float postion and two of us could not budge the bed!! Yes I DID check to make sure there were no clamps on the sides holding it down. How can I check the fluid level if I cant get the bed up? is it in front under the "hood"? I can hear the hydrualics straining to lift it when I move the lever.

The hydraulic cylinder maybe shot, that or a bad hydraulic coupler. For some reason fluid is not moving its way though the circuit.

would that stop me from manually lifting the bed when in the float position?
